A large Midwestern insurer has amplified the efforts of some sales reps who are especially active in local nonprofit groups.

Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Milwaukee, is giving $265,000 in donations to 25 nonprofit groups through its annual Community Service Award program.

Through the program, Northwestern honors 24 full-time career reps who volunteer by donating $1,000 to their organizations.

Northwestern also makes one $25,000 donation to the organization represented by the “most exceptional volunteer.”

This year, the most exceptional volunteer was Lesley Day, Northwestern says. To honor Day, Northwestern contributed $25,000 to Camp Carolina Trails, Raleigh, N.C., an American Diabetes Association affiliate.
