A benefit plan administration firm wants to give plan members more help with buying cost-effective health care.
SHPS Inc., Louisville, Ky., has agreed to add health care shopping tools from Asparity Decision Solutions Inc., Durham, N.C., to its Web-based plan enrollment system for large and midsize employers.
The tools include a module that can help workers analyze their health plan feature priorities; a module that can help workers compare the various plans that an employer offers; a medical care cost calculator; and a tool for estimating and comparing the tax savings that might result from use of a flexible spending account, a health reimbursement arrangement or a health savings account.
SHPS will start offering the Asparity Web tools this fall for the 2007 benefits enrollment season, the company says.
