Humana Inc. says it will be offering 6 free months of SilverSneakers Fitness Program access to some of its Medicare Part D customers.
Humana, Louisville, Ky., already offers free basic SilverSneakers fitness memberships or similar benefits to most of its Medicare managed care plan members.
The company now will offer similar benefits between now and Dec. 31 to Medicare Part D drug plan members in about 30 states.
The basic fitness center membership includes use of exercise equipment; access to amenities such as swimming pools, hot tubs and saunas; and an aerobic exercise class designed especially for older people.
