Standard Security Life Insurance Company of New York hopes to market a new temporary medical insurance program through employers.

Standard Security, a unit of Independence Holding Company, Stamford, Conn., is launching the Secure STM short-term medical program.

The program will offer coverage with terms ranging from 1 month to 12 months for new employees, employees who are not eligible for employer-sponsored group health coverage and other employees who need an alternative to traditional group major medical coverage, according to IHC.

IHC is distributing a Secure STM communication kit for human resources professionals that includes marketing materials and a “print on demand” CD-ROM, IHC says.
