Michigan officials have realigned their state’s Office of Financial and Insurance Services.
The Michigan OFIS has put 9 lawyers in a new Office of General Counsel. John Schoonmaker, the OFIS general counsel, will lead the new office, officials say.
Schoonmaker also has served as chief administrative law judge and as director of legal resources.
Michigan OFIS officials also have moved the health maintenance organization rates and forms section to the supervisory affairs and insurance monitoring division, from the health plans section.
