Three life insurers announced living benefit riders for some of their annuities.

MetLife, New York, is making a lifetime withdrawal guarantee rider available for most of its variable annuities. The rider allows customers to withdraw up to 5% of their VA purchase payments for as long as they live, beginning as early as age 59 1/2.

American National Insurance Co., Galveston, Texas, announced an indexed annuity that offers a lifetime income rider.

The ANICO Strategy Indexed Annuity guarantees an income for life, even if the annuity value falls to zero.

The company also is offering return of premium and enhanced death benefit riders for the product.

The annuity offers a 10-year or 7-year surrender charge period, with a 100% participation rate guaranteed for the life of the contract.

AmerUs Group, Des Moines, Iowa, also introduced an optional guaranteed lifetime income benefit for its fixed indexed annuity product line.

The guaranteed lifetime income benefit will be available July 1 in most states through agents of both AmerUs Life and American Investors Life Insurance Company Inc., Topeka, Kans.
