Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company wants to remind Americans about their nagging financial concerns.

Northwestern Mutual, Milwaukee, is introducing an “Interrupted Moments” campaign that will use print ads and 30-second television spots to show how neglected financial affairs can interfere with enjoyment of special moments.

The print ads will appear in publications such as Conde Nast Travel and Sports Illustrated, and the Web ads will appear on sites such as Yahoo!, according to Northwestern Mutual.

The television commercials will air during the French Open, the Belmont Stakes, the U.S. Open golf and tennis tournaments, and the Emmy Awards broadcast as well as on cable.

Northwestern Mutual also will be a presenting sponsor of National Geographic’s “Space Race.”

Downtown Partners Inc., Chicago, helped Northwestern Mutual develop the campaign.
