BB&T Corp. has agreed to offer the Benny benefits card both to clients and to health plan customers.
BB&T, Winston-Salem, N.C., is a large regional bank holding company with a large insurance operation.
Evolution Benefits Inc., Avon, Conn., the company that markets the Benny card program, has developed a card-based payment network that holders of flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts and health reimbursement arrangements can use to draw on account assets.
In related news, Metavante Corp., Milwaukee, the developer of the MBI Benefits health account card payment network, says 6 benefit plan administrators have agreed to continue to rely exclusively on the MBI Benefits card, and 2 other plan administrators have agreed to use the MBI card along with other health account cards.
