Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has started selling a health insurance policy designed for consumers ages 19 to 29 in Nevada.

Anthem Blue’s parent, WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis, began introducing the Tonik policy for young “invincibles” in 2003.

The policy comes with a high lifetime coverage unit, a high deductible for most health care expenses, and a package of routine care benefits that comes with low out-of-pocket costs.

The package of routine care benefits includes coverage for several doctor, dentist and eye doctor visits outside the high-deductible structure.

The product is medically underwritten, but applicants who qualify can apply through the Web and print out their own insurance cards.

In Nevada, the monthly premium for Tonik coverage ranges from $91 to $178, according to Anthem Blue.
