Planning Groups Form Think Tank

Organizations for legal, accounting and financial services professionals are starting a financial services policy coalition.

Organizers say the new think tank, the Synergy Summit, Chattanooga, Tenn., will represent the tax section of the the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York; the personal financial planning section of the AICPA; the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Tucson, Ariz.; the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, Cleveland; the real property, probate and trust section of the American Bar Association, Chicago; the estate and gift tax committee of the ABA tax section; and the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Newtown Square, Pa.

The 7 Synergy Summit founding organizations have a total of about 200,000 members, summit organizers say.
