Researchers at Financial Research Corp. have published a report based on a survey of 821 independent advisory firms that belong to the Financial Planning Association, Denver.

The report covers topics such as advisors’ attitudes about wholesalers and factors that affect an advisor’s decision to place assets with a money manager, according to FRC, Boston.

Researchers found, for example, that independent advisors look closely at money manager expense ratios and that advisors say they care more about getting up-to-date portfolio information than about help with building their businesses, FRC says.
