Personnel Changes: CIGNA, N.Y. Life, Securian

The group insurance unit at CIGNA Corp. has given Rebekah Whitehouse more to do.

Whitehouse, chief marketing officer for CIGNA’s dental and vision care unit, also will become chief marketing officer for the group insurance unit as a whole, according to CIGNA, Philadelphia.

In additional to dental and vision benefits, the group insurance unit sells group life insurance, group accident insurance and group disability insurance.

In other personnel news:

- New York Life Insurance Company, New York, has promoted Mark Arning to senior vice president.

Arning, who will continue to be deputy general auditor of the company’s corporate audit department, has been a first vice president at the company.

Arning has a bachelor’s degree from Long Island University and a master’s degree in business from St. John’s University.

- Units of Minnesota Mutual Cos. Inc., St. Paul, Minn., have announced 3 promotions.

One unit, Securian Financial Group Inc., has promoted Leah Anderson to project leader for information security and Sandra Erben to senior consulting analyst.

Anderson previously was an information security leader and Erben was a group life insurance customer service supervisor.

The other unit, Minnesota Life Group Insurance, has named Jennifer Styles Brown branch manager of its Charleston, W.V., office.

Brown, who has been a manager in financial services claims, is president of the Twin Cities Life and Health Claim Association.
