A Hartford managed care company has expanded its preferred provider plan offerings in the Lone Star State.

The company, Aetna Inc., started selling 2 new high-deductible preferred provider organization plans and 4 new low-deductible Aetna Advantage PPO plans for individuals and families in some counties in Texas in February 2005.

Aetna now is selling the plans in counties throughout Texas, the company says.

The high-deductible plans are compatible with the health savings account program.

The low-deductible plans offer no-deductible coverage for in-network doctor visits. They also include prescription drug coverage.
