A Midwestern insurer is expanding its life insurance product menu.

Conseco Insurance Company, a unit of Conseco Inc., Carmel, Ind., has introduced the Conseco Term life policy and the Conseco Mortgage Term life policy.

The basic term policy can guarantee level premiums and death benefits for terms of 15, 20 or 30 years. Holders can convert the policies to permanent policies up until age 70 and can renew the policies up until age 98.

The basic policy comes with 5 underwriting classes, and 7 riders include a spouse-business partner coverage rider and a disability income rider.

The mortgage policy comes with level-premium terms of 10, 15, 20 or 30 years, and that policy is renewable up till age 98.

The mortgage policy offers simplified, unisex underwriting and a choice of 8 riders.

Both policies can return premiums after periods of 20 years or 30 years.
