Sekure Healthcare Inc. says it will use a limited-benefit medical plan as a base for providing health coverage for agricultural guest workers, if Congress approves a guest worker program.
Sekure, San Diego, already sells a limited-benefit health plan, or “mini med” plan, along with a medical discount card program.
A new guest worker program, the Guest Worker Care PPO Plan program, would let workers build up health coverage credit while working in the United States, Sekure says.
When workers returned to Mexico, they could use the credit to pay for care from providers in the Sekure provider network in Mexico, the company says.
