Only 1% of U.S. employers say they communicate retirement planning information to employees on a regular basis.
Researchers at the consulting arm of Aon Corp., Chicago, have reported that finding in a summary of a survey of 1,071 U.S. employers.
Although few employers provide much retirement planning information themselves, 90% of the employers with retirement plans offer Web-based retirement planning tools, and 58% offer personal advisor-based retirement planning tools, according to Aon.
More than 80% of defined contribution plan sponsors offer a choice of at least 10 investment options, and 85% of plan sponsors make at least some contributions to the plans.
