Delaware Insurance Commissioner Matt Denn wants to persuade lawmakers in his state to set up a health insurance pool for residents with health problems.

Denn has put setting up a risk pool on his list of legislative priorities for the coming year.

The priorities “can best be summed up in 6 words,” Denn says in a statement about the list. “Health insurance, health insurance, health insurance.”

Denn also wants to rewrite the rules governing small group health coverage, protect consumers from fraudulent health discount card programs, and get the Delaware Department of Insurance the authority to reject “excessive health insurance rate increases.”
