Hub International Limited says it has bought eBenefits Group LLC, an employee benefits insurance brokerage.

The announcement came just days after Hub, Chicago, purchased 3 insurance agencies from Citizens Financial Group Inc., Providence, R.I., a bank holding company.

eBenefits, in Simsbury and Branford, Conn., produced about $3 million in revenue in 2005. The group will report to Thomas Mangan, president of Hub Northeast’s benefits division.

As part of the agreement with Citizens Financial, Hub will offer insurance products and services to customers of Citizens Bank and another unit, Charter One Bank.

The agencies Citizens Financial sold to Hub are Citizens Clair Insurance Group, Norristown, Pa.; Brewer & Lord, Norwell, Mass.; and the Feitelberg Company, Fall River, Mass. The agencies will continue to operate independently, Hub states.
