Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company is streamlining underwriting for a popular worker-paid benefit.

Colonial, Columbia, S.C., which operates as Colonial Supplemental Insurance, has introduced a true group voluntary cancer insurance policy.

If the employer meets participation requirements, employees can buy the coverage without answering any health questions, according to Colonial, a unit of UnumProvident Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn.

The basic package can help holders pay for services and procedures such as inpatient hospital care, private nursing help, transportation, radiation treatments and chemotherapy.

Optional features include benefits that can help pay for services such as ambulance services, experimental treatments and home health care.
