A large insurer is getting into the tech market.
Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company, Omaha, Neb., has formed Omaha Information Services Company, a consulting subsidiary that will have its own staff and its own offices.
The firm will handle tasks such as helping clients plan information systems, handling disaster recovery, and testing and setting up network security systems, Mutual of Omaha says.
The firm will start by marketing to companies in insurance, financial services and other heavily regulated industries.
