The American College board of trustees has elected Frederick Sievert to be chairman.
Sievert, the president of New York Life Insurance Company, New York, has served on the college board since 2000.

The American College is a financial services college with a main campus in Bryn Mawr, Pa.
Sievert has a bachelor's degree from Amherst College and a master's degree from Wayne State University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the board of LIMRA International, Windsor, Conn.
