Employees at a large Midwestern financial services company were more enthusiastic about charity in 2005 than they were in 2004.

The company, Ameriprise Financial Inc., Minneapolis, says 70% of its 7,500 employees and 3,000 employee financial advisors participated in the company’s employee giving in 2005, up from 61% in 2004.

The campaign raised $2.2 million from employees, and matching contributions from Ameriprise raised the total to $4.5 million.

Employees can give Ameriprise campaign funds to the charities of their choice.
