Principal Financial Group Inc. says it will offer discounts on defined contribution plan services for companies that work hard to improve employees’ retirement security.

Principal, Des Moines, Iowa, will be offering the new Principal Advocate Edge pricing program to many employers with a participation rate of at least 75% and a matching contribution rate of at least 3% of the employees’ pay.

When evaluating candidates for the discount program, Principal also will look at factors such as use of mandatory enrollment meetings, automatic contribution increases, lifestyle funds and managed account programs.
