The Hartford Financial Services Group has more than tripled its share value since going public 10 years ago, the company says in an announcement marking the anniversary. [@@]

Adjusted for a stock split in 1998, the company went public in 1995 at $24.88 a share after it was divested by ITT Corp., its parent for 25 years. At yesterday’s close, it traded at $85.57.

The 195-year-old Hartford, Simsbury, Conn., was primarily a property/casualty insurer a decade ago but today also has a significant life insurance, investment and employee benefits business. It has a worldwide workforce of about 30,000.
