A large senior citizens group is selling dental coverage aimed at adults over age 50 in 10 more states.[@@]
AARP, Washington, says its AARP Dental Insurance Plan is now available in Alaska, Arizona, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma and Vermont.
The plan already has been available in 37 other states and the District of Columbia, AARP says.
AARP hopes to make the program available to members throughout the United States.
AARP has an outside company, Delta Dental Insurance Company, San Francisco, to underwrite and administer the program.
The plan provides routine coverage during the first 12 months that a policy is in effect. After 12 months, the policy offers coverage for major restorations, gum treatments and dentures.
