Lawrence Grypp will be succeeding Robert Gibbons as chief executive officer of Lafayette Life Insurance Company in January 2006.[@@]

Western & Southern Financial Group, Cincinnati, acquired Lafayette Life, Lafayette, Ind., in June.

Grypp is president and chief executive officer of another Western & Southern unit, Columbus Life Insurance Company.

Gibbons will be retiring from service as an executive at Lafayette Life, but he will be advising Western & Southern on mergers and acquisitions, according to Western & Southern.

Grypp will keep his current role as president of Columbus Life and split his time between Lafayette, Ind., and Cincinnati, Western & Southern says.

Western & Southern also announced that William Olds, a senior vice president at Lafayette Life, will become the company’s chief operating officer, and that John Barrett, chairman of Western & Southern, will become chairman of Lafayette Life.

Lafayette Life’s headquarters will remain in Lafayette, Ind., Western & Southern says.
