HealthEquity Inc. will be joining with UICI to sell HealthMarket Consumer Driven Health Plans in Georgia and Texas starting in January 2006.[@@]
The plans will combine health savings accounts with HSA-compatible high-deductible health coverage, according to HealthEquity, Salt Lake City, Utah.
HealthEquity is a health savings account program administrator that now runs HSA programs for about 700 employers.
UICI, North Richland Hills, Texas, is the parent of HealthMarket and several other life and health subsidiaries. HealthMarket’s Chesapeake Life Insurance Company subsidiary will be responsible for underwriting the new HealthEquity-UICI HealthMarket HSA programs, HealthEquity says.
