Guardian Aids Storm Relief Efforts

Guardian Life Insurance Company of America says it has donated $250,000 to Gulf Coast storm relief efforts.[@@]

Guardian, New York, says it has given the money to AmeriCares and the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund.

Guardian also has helped customers in disaster areas by extending the payment period for life insurance, disability income insurance and long term care insurance to 120 days, from a normal grace period of 30 days.

The grace period for group employee benefit plans has been extended to 90 days, from 30 days, Guardian says.
