American Community Mutual Insurance Company has introduced the American’s Preferred Employer plan.[@@]

The health insurance plan, aimed at employers with 2 to 50 employees, is now available in Iowa and Ohio, according to American Community, Livonia, Mich.

The plan includes access to a national and international travel network as well as the plan’s own regional provider network.

Maternity, mental health and substance abuse treatment benefits are included in all plan designs.

Annual deductibles for individuals range from $250 to $1,500, and employers can choose coinsurance rates of 70%, 80% or 90%.

Another feature, a family security benefit, will cover insured dependents of a deceased employee for 6 months after the employee’s death without payment of premium.

Optional benefits include preventive care, dental care, deductible carry-overs, 24-hour occupational coverage and disability insurance.
