Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield has started selling Medicare supplemental insurance plans C and F in the New York area.[@@]

Empire, New York, says Plan C and Plan F benefits include full coverage of Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B deductibles; elimination of coinsurance payments for some hospital care and skilled nursing care; elimination of coinsurance payments for doctor’s office visits; and a basic fitness membership in a Silver Sneakers fitness center.

Plan F also covers the difference between a doctor’s actual charge and the Medicare-approved payment amount.

Empire, a unit of WellChoice Inc., New York, already sells Medigap plans A, B and H in the New York area.
