A large financial services company is acting quickly to help the many financial services customers living in areas of Florida hit by Hurricane Wilma.[@@]

AXA Financial, New York, says 4 of its insurance companies have relaxed grace periods for Florida policyholders affected by Wilma.

The 4 companies are: AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company (the old Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U.S.), AXA Life and Annuity Company, MONY Life Insurance Company, and MONY Life Insurance Company of America.

The 4 companies will extend the grace periods for payment of premiums and policy loan interest by 60 days for any grace period that normally would expire between Oct. 21 and Dec. 20.

“During this period, policyholders may delay their payments by as many as 60 days without penalty,” according to AXA Financial, which is a unit of AXA S.A., Paris.

The 4 units also will be trying to process policy loan requests within 48 hours, to support policyowners who may have emergency needs as a result of Wilma.

Affected policyholders can call (866) 254-0149 for help or send e-mail messages to AXA Financial at hurricaneassistance@axa- financial.com
