MassMutual Fills Retirement Consulting Jobs

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company has hired M. Palmer Whitney to be a managing director and practice leader at its tax-exempt retirement plans operation.[@@]

Whitney will develop 403(b) retirement plans for public hospitals, colleges, universities and other nonprofit organizations, according to MassMutual, Springfield, Mass.

Whitney previously was director of business development for tax-exempt organizations in the eastern United States at Principal Financial Group Inc., Des Moines, Iowa.

Whitney has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine.

MassMutual also has promoted Craig Haase to managing director and consultant practice leader in its retirement services unit. Haase previously was leader of retirement services product development.
