American Community Mutual Insurance Company has picked HealthPlan Services Inc. to help it run health plans that will incorporate personal health accounts.[@@]
American Community, Livonia, Mich., is one of the oldest health insurers in the country and now provides or administers health coverage for 200,000 people.
The company hopes to introduce Precedent plans for individuals and small groups in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio in the near future.
HealthPlan, Tampa, Fla., will handle all quoting, billing, enrollment, rate-generation, claims, renewal and customer-service tasks for the Precedent plans, American Community says.
