Symetra Life Insurance Company has hired Roderick Halvorson to be senior vice president of business development.[@@]
Halvorson will be in charge of distributing annuities and other products through banks and other financial institutions, according to Symetra, Bellevue, Wash.
Halvorson previously was president of the bank channel at MetLife Investors, a distribution unit of MetLife Inc., New York.
Symetra once was known as Safeco Life Insurance Company. Safeco Corp., Seattle, turned what is now Symetra into a stand-alone company by selling it to an investor group in 2004.
