MIB To Help Relatives Find Life Policies Lost In Storms

MIB Group Inc. will be looking into its vast life insurance application database to help relatives of Hurricane Katrina victims and Hurricane Rita victims learn if the victims had life insurance policies.

MIB, Westwood, Mass., is offering the free service to close relatives of individuals who may have died in the same storms that destroyed their records.

The MIB database contains records for life insurers that issue about 90% of all individual life insurance policies sold in the United States.

Relatives of storm victims can get free access to the Policy Locator Service by completing a “special affidavit in lieu of death certificate.”
