President Bush has sent the life insurance industry a letter thanking it for its efforts to help U.S. families achieve financial security.[@@]
“Life insurance companies provide valuable services that help workers and their families meet their financial needs,” the president writes in the letter, which follows upon separate resolutions passed by the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate that recognize September as the second annual Life Insurance Awareness Month.
The Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education, Washington, is organizing the campaign, which will use print advertising, public relations, a special section in Newsweek and other strategies to educate consumers about the importance of life insurance.
The mayor of the District of Columbia and the governors of 18 states have signed proclamations recognizing September as Life Insurance Awareness Month, the foundation says.
