Aetna Launches Wellness Program

Aetna Inc. is introducing a Web-based medical information service for group health customers.[@@]

Aetna, Hartford, says the new wellness message program consists of a series of electronic messages covering 14 health topics, such as childhood immunizations, hypertension and workplace safety.

Aetna will be adding messages covering 14 more health topics later this year.

The typical customer for the program probably will be an employer with about 51 to 3,000 employees, Aetna says.

Other Aetna wellness programs include a weight-control program, a wellness counseling program and a 24-hour nurse line.
