Assurant Employee Benefits has introduced the PPO Choice Plus plan, an insured dental plan that is supposed to help fill the gap between discount-only programs and richer dental insurance plans.[@@]
The program offers employees access to a network of 49,000 dentists and low charges or no charges for services such as exams, cleanings and x-rays, according to Assurant Employee Benefits, Kansas City, Mo., a unit of Assurant Inc., New York.
The program also offers some out-of-network benefits and reimburses patients at a 50% rate for some child orthodontia expenses.
Employers can pay for the plan themselves or have employees pay for it, Assurant Employee Benefits says.
