Connecticut Mandates Infertility Treatment Benefits

Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell has signed a bill that will create a mandate for state-regulated health insurers to cover “medically necessary infertility treatments” for plan members who live in Connecticut.[@@]

Most individual and group health insurance policies in Connecticut now are required to cover the cost of the diagnosis of infertility, in vitro fertilization and other procedures, according to bill supporters.
