UnitedHealthcare and Tenet’s Central Northeast-Southern States region signed a multiyear contract that runs until June 30, 2007.

The contract covers both inpatient and outpatient services and all of UnitedHealthcare’s commercial and managed Medicare products.

Plan members now have access to Tenet’s subsidiary-owned and operated hospitals in St. Louis, Memphis, and Rock Hill, S.C.

Tenet Healthcare Corp., Dallas, owns and operates acute-care hospitals and health-care services. The company’s Central Northeast-Southern States region comprises 18 acute-care hospitals in Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Such hospitals include Saint Louis University Hospital and its general acute-care facility at Des Peres Hospital.
