Bal To Lead Individual Markets At Assurant Health

Assurant Health has named Raj Bal executive vice president for individual markets.[@@]

Assurant Health, Milwaukee, says Bal will be responsible for development, management and sales of the company's individual products, including short-term medical, student insurance and health discount cards.

Bal previously was executive vice president for group health. He has a bachelor's degree in economics from Loyola College in India and a master's degree in business from the University of Manitoba.

Bal succeeds Steve DeRaleau, who has left Assurant Health.

In related news, Assurant Health, a unit of Assurant Inc., New York, has promoted Mike Kellen, Kim Pollard and Laree Daniel to senior vice president and Brian Wolf to vice president.
