The Uniformed Services Benefit Association has named Jerry Patton president.[@@]

USBA, Overland Park, Kan., is a nonprofit association that arranges group life programs and other insurance purchasing programs for active-duty military personnel, military retirees, honorably discharged veterans, and other individuals with ties to the military or other arms of the federal government.

New York Life Insurance Company, New York, underwrites USBA’s life insurance plans, the association says.

Patton is succeeding Larry Vogt, a retired rear admiral, who is retiring from USBA in July.

Patton began working for USBA in 1992 and now is the association’s executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Patton previously spent 27 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a colonel. Patton’s Air Force career included tours in Vietnam and Germany and assignments in logistics, intelligence and financial management, USBA says.
