Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is rolling out a benefits data exchange system for large employer groups and a Web-based enrollment tool for large and midsize groups.[@@]

The Omaha health insurer will be using the eExchange system from Benefitfocus.com Inc., Mount Pleasant, S.C., to help administrators and payroll workers at large employer groups send, get and manage benefits data.

Nebraska Blue will be using another Benefitfocus tool, the Web-based BluesEnroll system, to enroll insured groups with 50 or more employees, Benefitfocus says.

Employees at employers that use the BluesEnroll system will be able to see information about their benefits and make changes, Benefitfocus says.

Nebraska Blue provides or administers health coverage for 560,000 people.
