Companies in the program, run by Upromise Inc., Needham, Mass., contribute a portion of Upromise members’ payments to college savings accounts set up to benefit the members’ children or other children.

New York Life, New York, contributes to the Upromise savings accounts when Upromise members buy its participating life insurance and variable annuity products.

New York Life has agreed to participate in the Upromise program for at least 2 more years, and it will be increasing the number of products included in the incentive program, New York Life says.

The maximum for any one New York Life Upromise incentive contribution is $40, the company says.
