New York Life Insurance Company is contributing $160,000 to the New York Historical Society to celebrate its 160th birthday anniversary.[@@]
A group of 20 men founded New York Life on April 12, 1845, at 57 Wall St., Manhattan, according to New York Life.
The birthday donation will support a program that will give about 9,000 children at 50 schools a chance to visit the New York Historical Society museum to learn about Dutch Colonial New York, the American Revolution, the Erie Canal and other topics, New York Life says.
