A Philadelphia insurer is continuing its sponsorship of a fund-raising campaign that supports efforts to reduce the incidence of premature birth.[@@]
The insurer, CIGNA Corp., says it will be sponsoring the March of Dimes WalkAmerica event for the 11th consecutive year.
CIGNA also is the national sponsor of the March of Dimes Prematurity Campaign, and it notes that employers and their health carriers pay about 15 times as much for medical expenses for babies born prematurely than they pay for healthy, full-term babies.
