O'Brien Rises At GE Insurance

A large accident and health insurance operation has a new manager.[@@]

GE Insurance Solutions, Kansas City, Mo., has promoted Patrick O’Brien to business leader of its U.S. accident and health insurance business unit.

The unit is responsible for GE’s long term care, group long term disability, managed behavioral health, critical illness and personal accident products.

O’Brien previously was chief operating officer at the GE Insurance property insurance and services unit.

O’Brien, who is based in Avon, Conn., has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a master’s degree in fire protection engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree in business from Columbia University.

GE Insurance is a unit of General Electric Company, Fairfield, Conn.
