Cancer Policy Pays For Screening Tests

Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company has released a new voluntary insurance product.[@@]

The Columbia, S.C., insurer says its new product, a cancer insurance product, helps cover the cost of 17 cancer screening tests.

The policy also pays benefits for hospital care, transportation, lodging, surgical procedures, nursing care, home health care and hospice care.

Employees can choose from a list of 4 different levels of benefits, and they also can buy optional specified disease, progressive payment and initial diagnosis of cancer riders.

Colonial Life is a unit of UnumProvident Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn.
