Prudential Financial Inc., Newark, N.J., has launched a new individual long term care policy that offers consumers a range of choices.[@@]

The product, LTC3, available in 23 states, offers a choice of care, international coverage, a simple calendar day elimination period, restoration of benefits should the policyholder recover and an alternate plan of care to help keep the policy current with new and emerging modes of care.

Among the features is a cash alternative rider that allows policyholders to choose a monthly cash payment instead of reimbursement for LTC services. It also offers a shared-care rider that lets a spouse or partner have access to the benefits of the other spouse once their own benefits are exhausted.
