A Columbia, S.C., insurer that sells insurance at the worksite has added a distribution executive.[@@]
The insurer, Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company, a unit of UnumProvident Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., has hired Jay Hutchins to be director of broker marketing.
Hutchins, who will be based in Atlanta, has been working in Atlanta as a regional sales vice president with Trustmark Mutual Holding Company. Earlier in his career, he managed UnumProvident’s Rochester, N.Y., employee benefits office.
Hutchins has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Boston College.
